These were just were just two of the comments made by visitors to one of our Apple Day events. We will be holding an apple day event again on Saturday October 23rd 2010.

At Lathcoats there is a world of apples to be discovered. Don't be limited by what the supermarkets have to offer, we grow over 40 varieties including Essex's own Chelmsford Wonder, Queen, D'Arcy Spice and Discovery. We also grow old favourites like Cox, rare and unusual varieties such as Cornish Gilliflower and promising new varieties. You are always welcome to taste before you buy.

All are available ready picked in the farm shop during their seasons.

If you love apples but don't have the space in your garden for a tree why not try our Rent a Tree scheme? It also makes a great gift or activity for schools or clubs. You can read about the scheme here then, if you wish, you can print off a registration form

If you have an unknown apple tree in your garden and it is one of the varieties that we grow, we may be able to identify it. If it is one of the other 1,960 varieties you will do best to ask the RHS !
